Roughly 880 critically endangered mountain gorillas live in Rwanda, Uganda and the Democratic Republic of Congo. The Gorilla Doctors, a partnership between UC Davis Wildlife Health Center and the Mountain Gorilla Veterinary Project, provide veterinary care to wild mountain gorillas, who are often injured by snares.
