The symptoms of ADHD include inattention and/or hyperactivity and impulsivity. These are traits that most children brandish at some point or another. But to set up a diagnosis of ADHD, sometimes referred to as ADD, the symptoms should be inappropriate for the child's age.

IamAutism,

I'm sorry that your biased appears to condemn efforts to build upon the behavioral-social patterns of those with autism.

My perspective: The abilities and persona of a person with autism and a person without are a 100% effective, unique, and special to each. However, in an incredibly fast growing, world community and global market, it would behoove every one to acquire skills. Now, whether it's the "perfect" child attaining the abilities of the autistic child or vice verse, building the bridges between both brain types and mind sets is crucial to social cohesion. Which, after all is not such a bad goal; unifying people. ;)
