Richard Easterlin, a University of Southern California economics professor, is tudying the affect the fall of the Iron Curtain had on the overall well-being of those living in the communist-bloc.

USC (US)—Driven by a decline in satisfaction with work and family life, overall well-being initially plummeted in countries directly affected by the fall of the Iron Curtain, according to a new study that examines the correlation between happiness and democracy.
