In 2010 a simple mathematical equation; short skirts = a recession mini skirts = a depression. Attention designers, if you want the good times back design longer skirts. History will confirm when ladies are more discrete our country has booming times for all and the elite. Drop those hems and the good times will be ahead!
Economies mirror the real deal in an unexpected way; the shortness of dresses that women wear have a direct corelation to the economy. If you look at the depression, you will see mini short dresses even though it was a seemingly more conservative time compared to today. The skirts were very high and dancing and clubbing were in vogue and until the skirts became longer we stayed in the depression. Wall street frequently talked about this comparison and people would laught, yet history is repeating itself. Look at the fashion pages in newspapers and you will see how mini the dresses and skirts are in and New York is still in a recession, the worst one we have had in decades. Pray the designers make longer skirts and dresses and perhaps the economy will be back on track. Is this for real? History has said there is a corelation. What do you think? I laughed the first time I heard this from the brokers on wall street. Most people are not laughing in this recession in New York. Hopefully the designers will lower the skirts and as they come down, the recession will go away. Food for thought! Marilyn Harra Kaye, President, MLBKaye International Realty
