Electric cars have a great potential in them to be one of the largest game changers in the global market but with the present limitations in the fuel economy, their scope has been significantly reduced. Many car manufacturers like Nissan and Chevrolet have come out with their own electric cars but none of them could provide enough fuel economy compared to petrol or diesel fueled cars. The transition to electric cars is gonna take a while because the full potential of the technology hasn't been harnessed yet and when that is done I believe that electric cars will be a huge success globally and commercially as well.

So, I pay for a motel because my all electric car (I forgot to recharge) takes 24 hours to recharge and I am only 60 miles from home.....I don't think so.

The trouble is that people who would most benefit from the switch to plug-in vehicles - those who struggle to afford high gas prices - also cannot come up with the kind of money it takes to purchase a new vehicle.

I know I've wanted a Prius Hybrid for ages, and before that I was looking at the Corbin plug-in that was essentially a trike with a shell. But coughing up tens of thousands of dollars when it's hard to shell out for gas alone is out of the question.
