I think probably what's worse is the tendency (at least in the 80s) of slasher films to have teenagers be slain just when they were about to have sex. Maybe youngsters that are interested in sex watch more interesting movies, and the causality is reversed? In that case, it won't help to keep them away from the movies if you want them to engage in less risky behavior. The only smart thing concluded here is that parents have a role in educating their children. But note that parents should not teach their kids abstinence only, but they need to teach the real stuff.
