It surely is a hard life for the grandparents who are parenting their grandchildren while being in job. Even other grandparents too rough it out, and those with less resources, bear the most of the brunt. It was okay as far as the grandparents were to occasionally guide their children about how to raise a child. But being enforced a full time parenting job is sad. But whose fault is it? I read this article http://www.aha-now.com/are-you-ready-for-being-a-grandparent/ and it says the nature of parenting is the main culprit. If all families were raised with love, compassion and understanding, there would be less families with absent parents. However, now that we need to look for solutions, I hope the findings lead to some favorable public policy that frees the grandparents from being mere babysitters.
