I have an issue with the comment "may lead policymakers to pursue inappropriate and even harmful reforms.” because too many lower income students took the test and "... these students don’t perform as well academically". I say bring on the reforms because according to this article, almost one quarter of the USA's students traditionally "don't perform as well academically"
Does that number not worry anyone?
Why does the American school system show that kind of disparity. If countries were serious about doing something about child poverty - every student (not just the disadvantaged) would have 2 free meals a day- no segregation. You can't learn if you're hungry.
