"researchers have a newly precise way to measure the size and age of the universe and how rapidly it is expanding, on a par with other techniques."
I have taken this quote from the above and wish to tell you something. You do not know. No one knows.
The researchers, whether they be astronomers, astrophysicists, cosmologists just do not know and they tell everyone that they pretend to know. They all want us to believe them.
Why don't you just say you do not know and that you would have no idea.
I have also almost finished writing my book on the Big Bang, and I have had to come up with results that could be more exact than you could imagine.

It is very interesting. I don't think words can explain how big and old is the universe. In my opinion it is limited to the individual brain, knowledge and ability to think and imagine about something no one has ever seen and confirmed.

WMAP is looking at a cosmic glow far older than anything that the Hubble Space Telescope or Chandra X-ray Observatory can see. It is mapping slight temperature fluctuations within the microwave background that vary by only 0.00001 C across a chilly light that now averages 2.73 C above absolute zero. It is still operating and taking high quality data and the results from the first 2 full years of data which were released in 2004 are testimony to this fact.

I have a blog against the expansion of the universe, with arguments that show this is impossible.

How the people consider there are evidences for the Big Bang I study these evidences.

I have arguments and Hypotheses in: http://bigbangno.wordpress.com

Thanks.
