Birdsong is bird language. Music in humans was formerly our emotionally fashioned language. We evolved to become able to communicate vocally in more abstract symbolic terms. Some birds, i.e., parrots, have been able to at least mimic our methods, and some, i.e., crows, can use our inferential logic in their more evolved communicative methods. Now if we could only learn to fly, we'd have more than our present lot in common with those little dinosaurs..
