Antipsychotic medications are harmful, very harmful. If you read the Black Box warning you will see the effects these can create on people of all ages. As far as the elderly go, why would you give them any psychoactive medication that can cause such terrifying adverse effects. Perhaps try talking to them, taking a walk in a pleasant environment or ensuring they have the best possible nutrition. It seems to me that psychiatry is the quick and easy substitute for caring.
